About Okinawa Tourism and COVID-192020/04/16 18:25
In order to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus, the Japanese government declared a state of emergency on April 7. In response, the governor of Okinawa has urged people to refrain from travel, including travel to or from the prefecture, while the state of emergency is active. This request is in response to a rapid surge in cases within Okinawa prefecture, and is intended to prevent new cases coming in from outside the prefecture in addition to reducing person-to-person contact as much as possible, thereby preventing infection clusters within the prefecture. We ask for your understanding of the necessity of such measures in order to protect the lives and health of the Okinawan people.
